The Noosa Show has been showcasing livestock, dogs, horses, photography, machinery, art, cookery and needlecraft for 100 years. Helping to celebrate that centenary, 101.3 FM – love my Station – broadcast live from the show at the Pomona Show Grounds on Friday, 11 September.
Presenters Leonie Phillips and Mick Earle interviewed organisers of the show, exhibitors and stall holders… including Ted Nutridge the exhibitor of a special small breed of cattle known as Dexter Cattle, Kirra-Lee Newman who’s a local rider who has been enjoying major success in interstate Royal shows as well as having a very successful time with her horses at this Noosa show winning Championship Horserider for Under-12s, and finally our mayor Bob Abbot, who grew up in nearby Cooran. Bob has been attending this show for decades.
Noosa Community Radio also congratulates Lucinda Wiltshire for winning the Miss Noosa Showgirl 2009.
Behind every successful broadcast is the production team, led by the indefatiguable Harry Miller, assisted by Leon & Joy.
Station President Mark Rodriquez helps Saskia from Lake McDonald with our raffle at the end of the broadcast – congratulations to the winners, Pete Smoothy and Sarah Rendell from the Majestic Auto Centre, Pomona.
