Membership
Noosa Community Radio is a volunteer-driven community radio station, which means that our broadcasts and virtually all other
normal activities are delivered entirely by volunteers.
To be a volunteer with us in any capacity you have to be a
financial member.
We are a mainly self-funded organisation and as a member, you help us to continue to provide a diverse and specialist range of music,
alternative views and news, and a community forum for local events and information. You'll also be
with a group of people
who are passionate about what they do, and who enjoy being a part of the local community.
You can train to become an on-air
presenter, a newscaster, a receptionist and for other roles...not to mention discounts on merchandise, the chance to win tickets to our events and more.
As a member, you'll also be eligible to attend our Members'
Meetings and to vote at our Annual General Meeting. In other words,
you'll have a say in how the station progresses.
If you're a Business Member, you will also receive a discount when booking campaigns and sponsorship spots, and you'll have
a chance to access dedicated 101.3FM listeners through giveaways and discounts, as well as be involved in 101.3FM events,
radiothons and outside broadcasts.
If you join as a band or recording artist, we'll
also put a link on our website to yours, to help you extend your reach.
Membership starts at just $55 per year.
To join, download a membership application form -

If you happen to like what we do and you'd like to support us, but you don't want to volunteer or work in the station, then how
about becoming a subscriber? Click here to find out more.
Volunteering at 101.3FM
Only members can volunteer to work at the station. We very much appreciate our volunteers because without them, there is no
station.
There are plenty of volunteering opportunities at Noosa Community Radio and we all enjoy mucking in to help out wherever it's
needed. All of us know how to have fun, even if the going gets tough! In actual fact, not many of us do a just a single role.
All presenters
are requested to put in at least as many hours doing other tasks as the length of their show. You'll also find someone on the
music library perhaps also doing sponsorship as well as being a
presenter, or our president doing admin as well as IT.

Here's a selection of some of the department areas in our station.

Local news
Our news readers choose, write and read our daily local news. If you're interested in local news, news reading and/or reporting,
then you might like to consider joining our news team. We'll provide you with the necessary training so that you'll feel comfortable
with operating the recording equipment and helping us with our daily local news broadcasts. (Yes, it is possible to read
the news in one's swimsuit!)

Events and Fund-raising
Noosa Community Radio is involved in many events during the year.
Whether it's an outside broadcast, celebrating our anniversary at
"The J", raising funds as in the photo on the left for the Tsunami Appeal or other fund-raisers, there is plenty for our volunteers to
get involved in. Many hands make light work and
you'll have fun at the same time. |
 |
Reception
Reception can sometimes be the busiest area of the station. We help presenters and the community by preparing
community announcements
for broadcast, help to collate program guides or newsletters, answer the phone (of course!) and queries, organise the station
notice boards, distribute messages and much more besides.

 |
Music library
If you enjoy music, have a sense of its genres and are organised, then this could be the place for you. The
music library
section maintains and catalogues the station's library of recorded material. They advise members of the library's contents and
also load music onto the station's studio computers. |
 |
Information technology
This area maintains the station's administrative computer systems and networks, including regular backups, as well as
maintaining the website and recommending equipment or service purchases to maintain and improve the station facilities. If
you're techo-savvy, we'd love to hear from you. |

| 101.3FM Did You Know? |
You can help keep 101.3FM on the air by buying some of our merchandise - T-shirts of different colours and designs, or a cap
or two - ask us about it at the station or at one of our events. We're also at the Noosa Farmers' Market every second and fourth Sunday of the month.
