Hi there!
We would like you to have a look at these photos of a very special event at Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM on the 23rd of November.
“Cats and Dogs” is a new production created by 21 prep children from Noosaville State Primary. These gorgeous little 5 and 6 year olds will be recording their first ever radio show right here in the studios at Noosa Community Radio Station 101.3FM. You can listen to their show at the bottom of this article.
The kids have been working on their ideas for the last 4 weeks… our presenters are getting worried they might be out a job! We are told there may even be some dancing in the studio!
We also had a coloring-in competition, giving the kids a chance to win movie tickets.

Each child also received their very own Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM T-shirt! These were donated by Image On printing in Noosaville – thank you.
The show, “Cats and Dogs”, will be aired on the breakfast show on Tuesday 1st December, on the Rev Lol’s breakfast show, between 0745 and 0815am
We would like to thank our sponsors for making the learning day so special! They are: Image On Printing in Noosaville for giving the children a radio t-shirt each, Tewantin News Agency for giving us the art work for the children to do a colouring competition and Noosa Five Cinemas for giving us tickets for the winner. Without their help it would not have been possible to make it such a wonderful event.
Noosa Community Radio is very keen to work along side schools and to encourage education of children, we feel children can achieve a lot from taking part and we welcome other schools to contact us to arrange a visit with us.
We have recently been successful in assisting Sunshine Beach High School to obtain a grant to build a Radio/TV studio at the school and we are looking forward to working with them on future projects.
Noosa Community Radio has recently appointed a New Management Team with new Sub-committees, who all have fresh, new and exciting ideas and goals.
We are already the only station on the Sunshine Coast offering listeners a chance to win a new home with furniture draw. We will be drawing tickets for either Surf Life Savers or Boy’s Town lottery tickets, just for tuning in to the breakfast shows, Monday to Saturday on 101.3 FM.
Over the next few months, Noosa Community radio will be looking at streaming on the internet and installing a live webcam in the studios.
Over the years, Noosa Community radio has won multiple awards from the CBAA, for Community Station of the Year and also for our work with Peregian Originals local music initiative.
We aim to be the most popular station on the Sunshine Coast meeting the community’ needs and working with Schools and Children and the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.
The station’s new station ID, “Love my Station” is already a big hit with the public, that’s why we believe we are the listener’s Number One station.
Regards,
Lawrence Russell
