Altiyan Childs talks with Phil Brown on 101.3

Mark Rodriquez talks to concerned citizens, Marie Sarjeant and Maxine Jacobsen, who have taken up the cause. Breast Cancer awareness fundraiser

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Australia. Approximately 14,000 women are expected to be diagnosed this year. New diagnoses are also expected in around 109 men. The incidence in breast cancer is increasing, but with continued support and funding from organisations like the national breast cancer foundation, improvements in research means survival rates are on the rise. Yasmin Gill from the Sunshine coast is here to tell us about a fundraiser she has organized.

Riding for the Disabled need a home

The Riding for the Disabled Association has been left homeless, after being locked out of the Yandina property where its centre had operated for the past 5 years. The land had been on the market for the past year. Despite a 10 year agreement to use the land, they were locked out recently, with no warning, and given until August 31st to vacate the property. Over the top expedition

Two brothers with an 8.6 metre boat are traveling 9,500kms in 67 days. That’s one inspirational adventure to raise funds to improve prostate cancer awareness. The two brothers are Peter, who is a prostate cancer survivor and Phillip Jenkins, from Tinbeerwah.The cocktail party and fundraising event are on Saturday the 6th August at the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club. Wildlife warriors need help
