Blue Monday - Monday 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
Click on the "play" button to listen to show promo
bluemonday@noosacommunityradio.org
A founding member of the station, Al has
been presenting
Blues on 101.3FM since its inception. He launched
"Blue Monday" when the station extended its broadcasting beyond weekends. Al is a veteran
Blues musician
who played in Brisbane's Union Blues Band. He continues to play professionally with The Big Easy, a
Rhythm-and-Blues
band he formed with fellow station members, Jim Toomey and Tad Graham, in 1996. They played for
two years with the
station's first President, singer-songwriter, Barry Charles, and have actively participated in many station
fund-raising events.
Al has served on various committees including Management,
Human Resources, Training and Production. He contributes monthly
reviews of Blues CDs for the national Roots music magazine, Rhythms.
Al has a passion for African-American music, especially authentic Blues, of which he has gained a vast knowledge.
He has made several visits to various locales in the USA where the music evolved and has strong affinities with
Louisiana.
Blue Monday is a unique Blues program in that it covers, as well as contemporary Blues, a wide variety of
traditional, vintage and historical material. The format also includes other Blues-based genres from the same
melting pot, like Rhythm-and-Blues, Soul, Funk and Zydeco.
There's always a broad range of music from acoustic country Blues to horn-driven urban sounds, from
Jazz-influenced Blues to Roots-Rock inspired styles, and from harmonica/guitar-based music to piano-oriented
Blues. You'll hear legendary male and female singers, Australian Blues artists and also Cajun music, with its roots in the
Afro-American/Creole culture. Focusing on the "big picture", Blue Monday aims to entertain the
Blues fraternity with interesting anecdotes on the music, while drawing new fans to this rich musical heritage.

Please ignore the moustache it was my contribution to last year's "Movember" appeal and has now been
removed. It had been 26 years since I last wore one, though I think I will go again this year, it is to raise money
and awareness for men's mental health and prostate problems. At Noosa Community Radio we believe in contributing
to the good of the community.
Let's get back to the radio issues. The More Than A Feeling journey began on the 10th of August 2002. I thoroughly
enjoy presenting each show and I hope that you, the audience, gets just as much pleasure from listening. My aim is
to play music those other stations tend not to play, though you will hear a few "hits". It's a great
opportunity for me to provide you with a genuine alternative to mainstream radio.
Australian music is high on the agenda and I do like to promote local and or independent artists. At the radio
station we are provided on a regular basis with loads of new Aussie music/talent from AMRAP (Australian Music Radio
Airplay Project) and I play many of these
artist's on the show. Who knows, the next "big thing" could be up next on the More Than A Feeling program,
why not be the first to hear it.
If you are a recording artist then contact me at the station, we can possibly help get your material on the
airwaves either by performing live or recorded medium or promote any upcoming gigs.
Please tune in, you just might be very pleasantly surprised and remember, it's nice to be important but it's
important to be nice.

Blues, Rock 'n Roots and whatever sounds good to me.
Tune in for great music, gig information, interviews of local, interstate and overseas artists - with a bent towards
Blues. 101.3FM offers wonderful support to all kinds of live music and of course, our local community and spreading the
word about our beautiful part of the world.
This original ten-pound export from the UK put down roots on the east coast, entrenched as a "bean counter"
and eventually fled the corporate life from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast. Motorsport held me enthralled for many years as
a rally driver and events coordinator in various roles. I can still count but hung up the helmet to focus on the Blues and
Roots scene. My love of Blues music brought me to 101.3FM and the desire to contribute to the community. They don't call
me "motormouth" for no reason! I have been known to dress for the occasion (and heels) - my wife takes bookings
(not). I also MC at various music festivals around the country.
Hope to see you around the coast, Brisbane and festivals further afield, supporting the music.

Hi, I'm Debbie Noyek, one of our radio station's Irish leprechauns. Why not save an air fare to Ireland ... and
experience instead all the shenanigans waiting for you on "IRISH COFFEE".
Presenting this program is a real pleasure for me. It's packed to the rafters with traditional and modern
Irish ballads, jigs and reels and general leaping about. There's also plenty of Irish humour and, of course,
a dollop of oul blarney thrown in too (when you least expect it).
Do please join me on my musical trip to the Emerald Isle, because it just wouldn't be the same without you.
On "THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD", you'll not only hear all the words of the songs (!) but also some of the
world's best-loved music from people like Connie Francis, Dean Martin, Andrea Bocelli, Dusty Springfield, Perry Como,
Rosemary Clooney, Pat Boone, Ella, Neil Diamond and so on. What's more, the program's presented with a light-hearted
Irish approach, and it's soooo easy on your ears you won't feel a thing!

Click on the "play" button to listen to show promo
digginwithdoug@noosacommunityradio.org
Hi All
This is the lowdown on the Diggin' With Doug show. On Fridays at high noon I slip into the presenter's chair, put on my earphones and slide
my theme into the music machine. It's a track out of New Orleans called, "I Like It Like That". At 12:05, right after the midday news, I
hit the music button - yours and mine. Midway through the track I let you know you're on Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM and invite you to
"C'mon in and listen to the Diggin' With Doug show". And that's it folks, there is no holding back until 2:00 p.m.. The beat goes
on!
After a few pleasantries it's time for my own unofficial weather forecast. I may just be the only person on the planet
that makes up their own forecast and then sings it on air - that's right folks, I sing the weather forecast! I then throw in a few
giggles before bringing you wall to wall music with a brief break for my wine report just after 1:00 p.m..
The music and how it is linked together is the "tour de force" - it's different. Some play just rock
'n roll, some just the blues, country
perhaps, some just jazz or soul, world etc. but I play it all and more. From way back when until now, music to make you jump and jive, dance and sing. It's
total fun in the sun.
Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, I was found "rockin" in the cradle. Sport and music were my game and
I later came out to Oz on a professional soccer contract. In between times I sang with a Rock n' Roll band and sang
standards at a Sydney restaurant before
joining international airlines. I travelled so many times around the world and Australia, listened to so much music
that my head is continually in a spin but always spinning in the right direction and that's the direction I take you on the Diggin' With Doug show.
I have been on air since 2002 with Noosa Community Radio and seen the station grow, always improving to the point that the CBAA voted us the No. 1
community station in Australia - now that's hot!
So that's it folks, don't forget to tune into the Diggin' With Doug show every Friday at high noon and there I will rock
'n roll with you.

Hello
I've been involved with Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM since 2005, firstly as a volunteer receptionist. While I still
volunteer as a stand-in on the reception desk, I completed the in-house Presenter Course in 2007 and have been on air since
November 2007. I am a 50+ grandma with a love of music that covers many genres, hence the name of my programme. I love being a
part of 101.3FM and would encourage anyone with a little time on their hands to become a member as there is always the
opportunity to not only make new friends but learn something new.
Whether you enjoy a little toe tapping, a song or two in the shower or simply putting your feet up with a cuppa, I invite you to
tune in on Tuesday mornings. Your feedback or requests on the above email address will be welcome.
Cheers

Classic Black - Wednesday 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Click on the "play" button to listen to show promo
Joy believes that Classical Music is timeless, and that modern classical music now has African roots: Jazz,
Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Soul and Reggae. Also that in hundreds of years’ time people will still enjoy hearing the
best artists performing this music. Black is the new Classic and vice versa.
Joy was brought up in a Jazz/Blues loving household where all forms of Afro-American music were enjoyed. She has
also lived in Jamaica and London gaining a love of Afro-Caribbean music. She plays piano and guitar and is currently
learning to play the steel drums.
She joined NCR in because of the Jazz, Blues and Soul content of its airwaves, and quickly became a newsreader and
the secretary of the Programming Committee. She is currently secretary of the News Committee. Joy is also a PCAQ Pony
Club instructor.
Her other current areas of learning are: yoga, dressage, show jumping and piano.
Joy thinks that Noosa Community Radio is an important part of our community, and urges people in the district to
support our local station with either sponsorship, membership or voluntary work as we really are "The Voice of
Noosa".

alittlepeace@noosacommunityradio.org
Hi everyone, I joined NCR in 1999, through a "synchronistic" coincidence that’s had me in the hot seat
ever since. It started with a trip to the "Symbolic Journey" spiritual store in Noosa Junction, owned at
the time by Brian Panisset and his wife Linda. Long story short... Brian and Linda came into the restaurant I was
working in at the time. I happened to be waitressing instead of out the back cooking, Brian looked familiar, so I
eventually asked if we knew each other (mind you I did notice Linda's eyebrows raise :-). He said he didn't recognise
me and it wasn't till he mentioned the store that it rang a bell. I sat talking to them for about half an hour, with
me doing most of the talking ;-). Then when Linda had the chance to get a word in... she said, "Have you ever
thought of having your own radio program?" Brian is a member of Noosa Community Radio and there is a course
starting soon... and you do like a chat!"... And here I am, still talking ;-).
I’ve never been that interested in who sings the song or who plays the instruments. It was always if my ears
and heart enjoyed the sound, then that is what I played. Laid back music works best for me as I am an Aries and I
am always on the go, so I need the balance to keep me from flying off the edge of the planet. I was always interested
in the spiritual side of life and like most of us I started noticing that the world held on to a lot of negative
thoughts and actions and I wanted to hear and talk about the more positive side of life. Spirituality comes in many
beliefs and what I try to do on the program is bring a broad field of information from as many areas as I can.
Health and environmental issues are also high on my list of topics. Guest speakers from all walks and beliefs have
and will continue to chat on the program. I don’t really like to call them interviews, because they are more like
"you and I" sitting around the kitchen table having a cuppa, very laid back and casual.
I wanted to plant seeds in people's minds and leave the watering up to them. So "A Little Peace of my World"
was born out of those ideals.
I've been in the hot seat since 1999, and I have to say, out of all the things I have done up till now,
this program has given me the most rewards. I’ve met people who have left me speechless (and believe me, that’s hard
to do ;-) with their triumphs, struggles and attitude. I’ve been blessed to have been part of some listeners' lives,
where a part of my show has given them the strength to get through or change their direction.
We are all connected upon this "space ship" we call home, we're all the same colour on the inside and
our most common trait... is that we all got here the same way and will leave the same way. We are renting this planet
and at times I’ve wondered if I was the owner, would I keep the tenants... I’ve wondered could I destroy another human
being... I know there would be times where it could mean my life or theirs, but could I actually stare into someone’s
eyes and put out the flame of life. I’ve wondered if there is someone or something out there that’s a greater force
than what we see in front of us. I don’t have the answers, but I keep looking. I could go on, but I won’t... you will
just have to tune into the show ;-). Believe in the unbelievable, because a lot of what we believe in today was once
unbelievable.

I found Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM on a search for a local community radio station. I was already a presenter with
a community broadcaster in Redcliffe, Qld. At the time I was living occasionally at our beach shack at Marcoola Beach
with my wife, Julie.
I was retired with a free timetable so I took up the opportunity to do the presenter course.
It was a good course and my special thanks go to Bob Owen, my mentor on the broadcast panel. It was fun.
I was born in Forfar, Scotland, although I lived in Brechin, Angus. I remember my primary teacher, a severe Miss
MacGregor...she taught us us proudly how we trounced the English at Bannockburn in 1314. Later I found my contemporary
English pupils had no knowledge of Scotland.
My ports of call were Barnoldswick, Lancashire, London before the big wheel was built and Brisbane. I have worked in
technical support positions in pathology, school education, nurse education and teacher education. I am also handy
with a camera and I collect books, mainly about military history. I often write letters to the local newspaper. We
live such complex lives.
The Celts left us with many wonderful works of art from the silence of the grave.
We can now rejoice with music and song about those lands of Celtic culture.
Join me and rekindle your heart felt thoughts for those people and places, some across the sea, for auld lang syne.
Slainte mhath,
Lawrance

My country of origin is the Philippines, where I grew up and had my early schooling, through to high school. I
obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education (Elementary and High School) degree. I was then able to take up teaching
at a prestigious college. While teaching, I continued studying a Bachelor of Science in Social Worker.
Having an inquiring mind, I was able to come to Australia in my late twenties. I travelled extensively for
six months in eastern Australia and decided to live in Noosa where I've been since 1988.
I have been a part of Noosa Community Radio for the last 13 years. I helped in the many initiatives to raise
money for the equipment. Finally I took the in-house presenter course and have been on air since 2000. Andrew Tucker,
one of the founders, was my trainer.
Music is part of my life. I used to play guitar and love singing. On my show, I play local and world popular music
and present information on ethnic topics and events.
Health and happiness are more important to me than wealth and status. I am very much a community minded person.

I have always loved music, as a brat and expected to practise piano for hours, I retaliated by playing "Who
Killed Cock Robin" and "Frere Jacques" repeatedly & ad nauseam.
My mother sang and constantly played light classical music which irritated me no end, Tchaikovsky was far too
airy for me, I preferred more stirring rhythms, Russian Marches, Gregorian Chants, Wagner, Brahms & Beethoven.
Bought up in the era of the Beetles and Janis Joplin as a student I graduated to Motown, Smoky Jazz, Blues, Soul,
Poetry Readings and Little Theatre.
I discovered Leonard Cohen in ‘72 when he was touring Aus. Life was never the same for me or my neighbours, they
actually begged me to play any other C.D! (Many people consider Cohen’s songs as "music to slash your wrists
by" but I am constantly amazed by his gift, his acute lyrics.
Leonard Cohen can put more meaning into one sentence than I can into an entire chapter. In Cohen's words,
"There was a chord that David played to please the Lord, It went like this, the 4th the 5th but you don’t
really care for music do you?" I can’t imagine a worse insult or a life without music.
To me life and living has always been about community and sharing, friends, music, art, the ocean, freedom,
flying (tiger moths), and making a positive difference.
I have found my community in Noosa Community Radio, a bunch of generous, sharing, helpful, music loving,
like-minded people who volunteer to put our local and Aussie artists out there in the community. N.C.R offers
Radio Presenter training programmes which are fun affordable and huge link to our very own Sunshine Coast
community. Join up, have your own programme and become a part of our fun, family getting it out there on the
air waves.
Love doing my show on 101.3FM, listening to and playing great music, getting to meet and interview some wicked
local musos on air is a plus. I’m passionate about the local community and community involvement. I’m writing a
book at the moment and I am building a website along with other interested musicians with the aim of commencing a
fortnightly musical gig in the Noosa, Tewantin area to involve local talented artists and musicians. Would love
your feedback on my show, please email me at mirinsmix@noosacommunmityradio.org.

Randall Scott
Altered Ego - Saturday 8:00 p.m. to late
Hi my name is Randall Scott (actually, it's my stage name). I’ve always wanted to be "on-air" as a
radio announcer since I was a kid.
I would try and fill the spaces between the songs on my mum & dad's tapes. Needless to say they weren’t
overly happy at my attempts (because I erased a lot of easy listening music).
Since then I have bounced and wandered from job to job, never really finding anything to inspire the deep passion
for radio that I had as a kid. Now I’ve been given the chance right here at Noosa 101.3FM.
I completed the in-house Presenter Course in 2008 and have been on air since February 2009. Every Thursday night
from 9pm till late (Special thanks to all involved and your encouragement). By joining the 101.3FM Family, I’ve found
a sense of belonging within the Noosa community while making heaps of new friends.
I have a love of music that covers many genres, but I mainly play hip-hop, rap, rock and dance from as much
Australian talent - known and unknown - that I can dig up.
So I invite you sit back and relax and allow the music to wash over you and soothe away your troubles, at least for
a little while and get your groove on.
Peace Grooves & Tattoos.

In 1959 Berry Gordy Junior, an African American man borrowed this amount from his family. He made a

Hi am The Rev Lol, and just like, Berry Gordy, I will put my determination in giving you the listeners
the very best of Motown Soul.

the old and the new songs every Wednesday evening, between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m.
You will need to prepare your drinks and snacks early as you will be glued to your seats for two hours.
Each week I will be trying to find out who's smarter!!! The Ladies v The Men to see who can win a great
prize by naming four clips of music.....
The Magic of Motown will be adored by thousands...
...so join me, Lawrence Russell
Your Wednesday evening is about to change...

The Backdoorstep - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
thebackdoorstep@noosacommunityradio.org
"The Backdoorstep" presents original artists performing locally.
It was conceived to
provide marketing assistance and air time to original contemporary Australian
and local musicians and to deliver quality
programming to Sunshine Coast listeners. It
gives them exposure to talent appearing locally on our Backdoorstep.
Music by artists who have appeared on "The Backdoorstep"
has been compiled in a CD to promote the
artists and raise funds for 101.3FM. (Click
here to have a look at the Noose Sound Waves
CD).
Music from local original singers and song-writers, who have dedicated themselves to their field to the point of
producing a quality demo or commercial product, is aired to
help the performers to reach an audience
and to give listeners information enabling
to enjoy and support live local talent on our Backdoorstep. Rob provides information
on performance dates, availability of
musical product, musical influences and
interviews, encouraging listeners to experience first hand the art of live musical
performance.

Friday Drive Show - Friday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Click on the "play" button to listen to the show promo
Hi, I'm Rob Ruger. Before the Friday Drive Show, I presented the show
LET THERE BE ROCK for some time and over this period, I have
really felt privileged to be able to share my passion for rock music on air. This is due to Noosa Community Radio's
excellent training and support provided by its members, plus the unique platform that only the community radio sector
can provide for new talent. Having performed in bands for many years myself and producing 14 CDs in my own studio, I
hope to contribute some of the experiences I have had in the music industry and to help local emerging artists.
(Be sure to tune in!)
Regards, Rob Ruger
