Retiring at 47 and moving to Noosa, I joined the station in 1995 when it was just being formed and broadcasting 2 days a week on the AM band. As well as presenting a late night and Sunday breakfast programme, I became the sole Administration officer, a position I held for the next 8 years, doubling as the Sponsorship co-ordinator for 5 years, then Sponsorship sales for 3. I am currently a part of the Programming sub-committee.
As the longest serving continual broadcaster at the station, I presented the Easy Listening Programme for 14 years on a Saturday afternoon, before recently moving to Saturday morning. I also present Monday Drive, playing hits from the early 60’s onwards, rock ‘n roll and the music baby boomers grew up on.
The ride from those founding days to now has been bumpy but fun and full of wonderful memeories.
Wish I could do it all over again.
